Monster Hunter Wilds Beta Soars Despite Technical Issues

The Monster Hunter Wilds beta is here and players are pouring onto the platform, soaking up every ounce of the free-to-play trial. On Steam, a whopping 463,000 concurrent players were recorded enjoying Capcom’s upcoming title, putting it in the platform’s top four games by player count in the last 24 hours.

It’s storming up the charts on other platforms, too. The launch of the Monster Hunter Wilds beta has even dwarfed the likes of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, which was released just yesterday.

Numbers Running Wild

The Monster Hunter Wilds beta is great, but it’s not running well on PC. Players have reported widespread issues, including an unpredictable frame rate and a bizarre problem that’s turning enemies into polygonal nightmares.

Many have written the game off because of the somewhat exorbitant system requirements, so that might go some way to explaining the issues. However, Capcom has assured users that it’s acting on all the feedback received during the beta, and the base game is ‘already better’ because of it.

The issue of afterimage noise occurring in certain environments when Frame Generation is enabled will be fixed in the full game, which is already in a more improved state compared to the beta test.

Unfortunately, the support options are pretty thin, directing players to generic troubleshooting articles that offer advice that’s not at all tailored to the game or any specific problems.
