The game brought us the best-realized version of Wild West yet in gaming and some of the most deep and immersive characters. Red ***** Redemption 2 featured phepnemal voice acting. Image Credit: Rockstar Games. One of the best-known characters in Red ***** Redemption 2 is undoubtedly Arthur Morgan, who, voiced by Roger Clark, won the hearts of millions. However, you’ll be surprised to know that Red ***** Redemption 2‘s writer outright ignored the protagonist’s voice actor for his own sanity. Red ***** Redemption 2 Writer Purposfully Avoided Arthur Morgan VA One of the best ways to bring video game characters to real life is by hiring voice actors who then re-enact the dialogues and bring a touch of reality to the entire game. Seriously, not a single game is complete without the addition of real-life voice actors. However, Red ***** Redemption 2‘s main writer, Dan Houser, who also happens to be the co-founder of Rockstar Games, took a different route when it came to the game’s voice actors. In an interview with This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up , he mentioned how he purposefully avoided Roger Clark to save his own perspective of the character he had built up till that point. I grew up with my mother as an actress and she was always obsessed with accents, but the dude says 20,000 or 30,000 lines of dialogue in the game and there is not one where he drops it. He got so little wrong. What he gives to it is fantastic. It’s not really like people have seen in our games before. Houser also appreciated how Clark was able to take on the mighty challenge of portraying Arthur Morgan and ******** it quite flawlessly. He further adds that the voice actor’s performance was impressive to the point where it became their finest work, as gamers had never seen this high standard of voice acting in Rockstar’s games before. It’s great to see that Houser’s unique approach towards the voice actors ultimately played out in the end. Let’s hope Rockstar can replicate this success for its upcoming Grand Theft Auto 6, as it’s one of the most anticipated games of the decade and will set the bar for the studio going forward. Red ***** Redemption 2 Successor is Years Away From Release The next Red ***** Redemption is years away from release. (Image via Rockstar Games) Red ***** Redemption 2 skyrocketed the series’ popularity to the next level. Despite all the success, Rockstar hasn’t uttered a word about the game’s sequel. What’s even worse is that the studio dropped support for its online aspect. However, that hasn’t put an end to the rumor mill on the internet. While talking at the Jefferies Virtual Global Interactive Entertainment Conference last year, Take Two’s CEO, Strauss Zelnick, opened up about Red ***** Redemption‘s success and said, “If it’s really, really great, it will keep going.” Not only that, but he also compared Rockstar’s IP with franchises such as James Bond and labeled them as enduring entities. It’s already known that Rockstar is picking up the development of Grand Theft Auto 6 as it’s scheduled to drop next year. Considering Rockstar’s past and the recent industry trend toward long development cycles, we might not see Red ***** Redemption 3 before 2030. With that said, what would you like to see in the Red ***** Redemption 2 sequel? Let us know in the comments below.
