A lot of extraction shooters rely on ultra-realistic military aesthetics. Arena Breakout Infinite, Gray Zone Warfare, and the ever-present Escape From Tarkov all lean on authenticity, but that's not all the genre has to offer. Combining the dark, depressing dystopia of the Metro series and the large-scale mechs of Armored Core 6, The Forever Winter is different. Ecological collapse, military conflict, and human-machine hybrids meander on the surface of a destroyed world, and you need to gather what you can to try and stay alive.
