In jailing the school teacher after her second contempt of court conviction in 10 months, Justice Stephen Lemonis said she was “motivated by a misguided attempt to vindicate her brother”.

Justice Lemonis said there was no foundation for her beliefs that Mr Peterson’s treatment of Mr Ceccon had “brought about the health conditions” that resulted in his ****** in 2019.

John Ceccon, who had worked in business development at CPS, left a financial mess for Ms Ceccon and their elderly mother Nicoletta after years of loss-making share dealings and ******* business investments.

Celtic Capital won a legal battle in June 2022 to enforce mortgages securing $1.7 million of debts owing under a September 2018 agreement that had identified the siblings and their mother as borrowers.

posts in 2023 attacking Mr Peterson and Celtic and, in part, repeating a version of events that had overwhelmingly been rejected by Justice Jennifer Smith.

Mr Peterson launched a Supreme Court action in September last year seeking an injunction requiring Ms Ceccon to take down these posts.

Despite orders from Justice Gail Archer, the school teacher ******* to remove the derogatory material and mounted more social media attacks on Mr Peterson through the spring of 2023.

Justice Archer found Ms Ceccon guilty of contempt of court in December last year and fined her $25,000, with $25,000 of legal costs.

Mr Peterson and Celtic ***** a second contempt charge in May this year, alleging Ms Ceccon continued to breach Justice Archer’s orders and made further posts from February.

Ms Ceccon’s new posts included claims Mr Peterson colluded with a judge, was a loan shark and had caused her brother’s ******., according to a summary published by Justice Lemonis.

“I have had to constantly defend my reputation with my staff, friends, colleagues, numerous clients and former girlfriends,” he said

Mr Peterson said he had battled to sleep, being too worried about what Ms Ceccon might post next and how this would affect him.

Justice Lemonis said that since Justice Smith’s judgment of June 2022, Ms Ceccon had “become obsessed” with an unfounded belief that Mr Peterson had brought about her brother’s strained financial position at ******.

In Ms Ceccon’s mind, Justice Smith’s finding could have only come about because of collusion between the courts and Mr Peterson.

“There is, however absolutely no foundation for such a serious allegation,” Justice Lemonis said.

He also ordered she pay $35,407 in legal costs.
