It’s powered by a rear-mounted 160kW/415Nm electric motor, fed by a 74kWh battery pack for a claimed 308km of driving range. data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///ywAAAAAAQABAAACAUwAOw==Camera IconSupplied Credit: CarExpert Ford’s best-selling Ranger will receive electrification in the form of a 75kW electric motor sitting between its turbocharged 2.3-litre four-cylinder petrol engine and 10-speed automatic transmission, with a 11.8kWh battery providing power. Ford is targeting 45km of electric-only driving range from the electric motor and battery, which can also provide assistance to the turbo-petrol engine. The Ranger PHEV also doesn’t sacrifice the 3500kg towing capacity of its diesel-powered siblings, allowing it to keep up with the pulling ability of the most popular utes on ***** in Australia. Other Ranger PHEV-specific features include up to 6.9kW of available external power, courtesy of a 2.3kW (2300W) outlet in the cabin and two 3.45kW (3450W) outlets in the bed. Ford is yet to announce pricing for the Ranger PHEV or E-Transit Custom, both of which will face stiff competition from ******** and ********* rivals.
