Clarabelle the Cow raises $20,000 for Toby For Childhood ******* at 93rd Brunswick Show

Brunswick’s most valuable fibreglass cow has now managed to raise more than $350,000 for various charities following a massive bid at this year’s Brunswick Show.

For the past four years, Clarabelle the Cow has been at the centre of an auctioneering battle at the show, managing to raise $20,000 this year for the charity Toby for Childhood *******.

The massive bid came from Brecken Health chief executive Brenda Murrison, who said Clarabelle would be “very welcome” at the group’s medical centres across the region.

She said Clarabelle would spend the next 12 months surfing between the receptions of Brecken Health medical centres in the South West, and would even travel up to Perth to continue to raise awareness and funds for charity.

“I think lots of people will see her and hopefully be stimulated to donate some more money to charity,” Ms Murrison said.

“I think having her in reception will be a really good place for her to be. I think she will give a lot of people a lot of hope.”

Clarabelle is sporting a new look from previous years, swapping her traditional pink for a look resembling a ****** angus.

Her previous owner Mark Talbot said he was immensely grateful to have his bids outdone this year and seeing the cow going to a new cause.

In her three years of fundraising she has travelled across the State raising money for a host of different ******* charities, having raised in excess of $350,000 before this year’s auction.

“Not bad for a plastic cow,” Mr Talbot said.

Following the battle for Clarabelle came another auction, this time competing for Tiny the Biplane, a small wooden model built and donated by the Brunswick Men’s Shed which raised $1600 in the bidding war.

Mr Talbot said the donation would make a huge difference for Toby for Childhood ******* with 100 per cent of the funds raised from the auction going directly to fighting children’s *******.

“There’s a lot of things happening at the moment as far as cures and treatments go, which is quite exciting in the ****** against childhood *******,” he said.

“This money will help these guys make a difference.”
