Speaking after the Queensland Labor Government lost office after nine years on Saturday, Mr Cook said the clear focus on cost of living was his key takeout from the loss. As part of cost-of-living relief for families, former premier Steven Miles announced a program of free lunches at schools, something Mr Cook hinted WA Labor would look to borrow ahead of March’s State poll. Look to a Government that wants to unite the community, a Government that has runs on the board, the experience to take this state forward.” WA Opposition Leader Shane Love said the Queensland result was proof voters are ready to ******* “lousy” state Labor governments. “They’ve had enough of Labor’s empty promises,” he said. “It’s a reflection not only of Labor’s failings at the state level but enormous disillusionment with the federal Albanese Labor Government.” “I’m excited to see WA join this wave of change.” WA will head to the polls on March 8, with a Federal Election due to be called by May.
