Conor Rackemann charged with ******* of mother Suzy, sister of Test cricketer Carl Rackeman

The nephew of former *********** Test cricketer Carl Rackemann has appeared in court charged with the domestic ********* ******* of his mother.

Conor Robert Rackemann appeared at Brisbane Magistrates Court on Friday, six days after the Queensland Police upgraded their charges against him for allegedly ******** his mother Suzy Rackemann.

The police allege the 29-year-old assaulted Ms Rackemann at an Upper Kedron address in Brisbane about 5.45am on August 17.

The police allege Ms Rackemann, 61, suffered critical head injuries in the altercation.

Paramedics took her to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a critical condition, the police said.

She ***** from her injuries at the hospital on August 26.

“At the time, the 29-year-old man was charged with one count of grievous bodily harm domestic ********* offence,” the police said on Thursday.

“Following extensive investigations by Ferny Grove’s ********* Investigation Branch, including their newly established DFV team, his charge was upgraded to one count of ******* domestic ********* offence, October 19.”

A memorial service was held for Ms Rackemann on September 12, with a reception at The Gabba.

Conor is the nephew of Carl Rackemann, who played 12 Tests for Australia as a fast bowler in the 1980s.

He later coached the Zimbabwe national team.
