Fallout Day is Basically Todd Howard’s Hail Mary to Avoid The Slippery Slope Starfield Has Pushed Bethesda Into

Starfield was one of the biggest video games in 2023. Amidst the crowd of Diablo 4, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Alan Wake 2, Baldur’s Gate 3, and many more, the Bethesda title stood firm. However, this space exploration title never went on to fulfill the expectations and hype it created in its long development *******.

Along with this title, there are two other franchises of Bethesda that went on to become two of the most successful IPs of the company: Fallout and The Elder Scrolls. Despite the brilliance of the space exploration title, Bethesda seems to be working hard on one of its titles on Fallout Day.

We see the feedback, we see a lot of players saying ‘This is what I want out of a Bethesda game, which is to explore a world in a certain way, and Starfield didn’t give me that. I prefer the way it’s done in Fallout or Elder Scrolls’ and perfectly understandable, right?

Howard was himself skeptical about the game’s content, as it was going to be completely different than that of The Elder Scrolls or Fallout. After the RPG’s release, there was much discussion and criticism about the range of experiences available on the in-game planets. While some players enjoyed the vastness of space, others missed some of the spontaneity and ****** of Bethesda’s smaller worlds.

As previously mentioned, Fallout is another successful IP of Bethesda. That is why it makes sure that this franchise doesn’t suffer like Starfield by bringing exciting updates in Fallout 76 on this specific date of October 23. But why is this called so?

Fallout is set in a post-apocalyptic world, and on this auspicious day in 2077, the ****** dropped and the Great War began. The in-game date might be somber, but in the real world, this date is a treat for the Fallout fans. 

Bethesda hosted a Fallout Day broadcast to commemorate 2024, showcasing some of the upcoming game updates. Pets, a fishing minigame, and an end-game raid culminating in a massive, terrifying snake boss are all included.

In the Fallout Day video, a number of Bethesda developers discussed their daily tasks, shared sincere recollections of joyous times spent in the wasteland, and made lighthearted remarks about how annoying it is to work with a ghoul coworker. The new end-game raid, which draws heavily from MMO-style dungeons, is the highlight.

It is designed to be a significant challenge for players who are committed to the game. Teams will venture underground, withstand being pursued by a furious mole miner, and ultimately encounter the Ultracite *******, a large, frightening snake that was first sparked by a coal miner.

We also learned more about what playing a ghoul will be like in the game. Bethesda first revealed back in June that players could become ghouls, but with this video, the developer showed off some of the effects that choice will have on gameplay. Bethesda also showed off the two new pets players will be able to unlock for their bases — a dog and a cat, with more to come in future updates.
