Wilson’s Brewery hosts dolled-up Frocktober event, raising $1655 for Ovarian ******* Research Foundation

More than 60 glammed-up men and women attended an event at Wilson’s Brewery on Sunday to raise awareness and funds for research into the most lethal form of women’s *******.

Hosted by Brenda Fitzgerald and Julie Tulip with the help of David Tulip, the Frocktober event raised $1655 for the Ovarian ******* Research Foundation.

Ms Fitzgerald said she greatly enjoyed organising the “extravaganza” and hopes to make it a yearly event.

“A big thank you to all the staff, they were amazing,” she said.

“Wilson’s very generously opened their arms to us and provided a complimentary glass of champagne to donating guests.

“In some small way, we hope to contribute towards the development of a regular test for all women to help to control this *******.

“Much fun and togetherness was had by all.”

Attendees were entertained by the musical stylings of Rusty ****** and performance artist Gertrude WellEase, also known as Liz Jack.

Donations by Stamm’s Emporium, Vic and Velour, Yellow Bird, Butterscotch, Bayonet Head Bottle Shop, Bayonet Head Newsagency and Due South helped make up the raffle prizes, the proceeds for which were donated to the charity.

The 2024 Frocktober fundraiser has nationally raised more than $444,100 thanks to the donations of 6316 supporters.

Funds go into supporting research aimed at improving detection methods, developing more effective treatments and seeking preventative measures for ovarian *******.

October is Ovarian ******* Awareness Month.
