After Interplay and ****** Isle, Bethesda took over the franchise and gave fans some exceptional Fallout video games. Fans have been waiting for nearly a decade now for the next Fallout game, but Bethesda gave fans the same Fallout experience, just in the form of a TV series. data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///ywAAAAAAQABAAACAUwAOw==Ella Purnell played the role of Lucy in the Fallout TV series (Image via This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up Prime Video) With the help of Todd Howard, the mastermind behind the Fallout and The Elder Scrolls series, a series that was canonical to the Fallout games was released in April 2024. The show was a massive success and it’s safe to say that Howard’s approach was what made it special. On several occasions, he has explained that he treated the series like another entry in the video game series. The fact that the series was a standalone entry seemingly confirms that it could generate spinoffs in the future as the Fallout universe is quite big. Multiple Spinoffs Of The Fallout Series Could Get Developed In The Future Earlier this year, Todd Howard, the game director and executive producer at Bethesda Game Studios, appeared on This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up to talk about the Fallout TV series. During the conversation, Howard explained his approach, I wanted to approach it as an entry in the franchise as opposed to you know a direct translation of an existing story. Howard’s idea of treating the show as a video game installment will certainly benefit the studio in the future. The film could branch out spinoffs in the future as they never directly translated the events of the video games, leaving out the possibility of covering the rest of the Fallout universe in the future. What’s Next For The Fallout Video Game Franchise? data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///ywAAAAAAQABAAACAUwAOw==The last game in the Fallout video game series, Fallout 4, was released in 2015 (Image via Bethesda) It’s safe to say that there is a lot of hype for the next Fallout game, however, players might have to wait for at least a decade. In 2022, Howard told This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up that the next Elder Scrolls game is in pre-production, but they will only move to Fallout 5 after its release, Elder Scrolls 6 is in pre-production and, you know, we’re going to be doing Fallout 5 after that, so our slate’s pretty full going forward for a while. We have some other projects that we look at from time to time as well. Despite Howard’s clear statement, players are speculating that Bethesda is secretly working on the next Fallout game and the studio might reveal some information about it during the first-ever Fallout Day Broadcast on October 23rd. It’s also clear that this is not the end of the Fallout series as it has been confirmed that a second season is on the way. The series, which can be streamed on This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up Prime, was well-received by the fans. Thanks to the great visions of Graham Wagner, Geneva Robertson-Dworet, Jonathan Nolan, and Todd Howard, the series didn’t end up like some other video game adaptations that seem like cashgrab. Do you think the Fallout TV series will create spinoffs in the future? Share your views in the comments!
