Fallout’s Aaron Morten Wasn’t a Fan of Doing One Thing While Playing Brotherhood of Steel’s Maximus

The audience is having a great time enjoying the latest Prime Video’s Fallout TV series. One of the most applauded elements of the show is the armor costumes. Aaron Moten, who played the role of Maximus in the show, recently revealed how he struggled with the huge and heavy armor.

Interestingly, before being signed for the game adaptation, stars Ella Purnell, who plays Lucy, and Aaron Moten were familiar with Bethesda’s game franchise. However, the most intriguing thing for them, when they received the scripts, was the complex characters of Vault dweller Lucy and Brotherhood of Steel soldier Maximus.

“He’s ambitious. It reminded me of Shakespeare’s description of Cassius and Julius Caesar where he’s like a hungry dog, he just is always wanting something. He has issues with right and wrong because he’s in a world that’s based on survival first and it’s a harsh reality.”

Speaking about his relationship with the protagonist Lucy, he reveals that the two of them come from very different backgrounds. However, he also added that the pair are connected by their circumstances.

“I think they’re both in the dark as to what is really going on and that connects them, that ******* to find out what is happening. [Lucy and Maximus] have such a different, 180 opinion about different things that we see or say.”

He revealed that a lot of the comedy in the show comes out of that relationship. Their interactions show how there is a lot of the tragedy and weirdness in Maximus growing up in the Wasteland, and Lucy’s life in the Vault.

Morten also revealed that one of the most thrilling aspects of the Fallout games for him personally was starring alongside the Power Armor soldiers. Talking about the huge armor he had to wear as part of his role as Maximus and his experience with the director Jonathan Nolan, he said,

“[Jonathan Nolan’s] filmmaker language is about the practical aspects of things. So having such a monster, seven-foot-six or however tall it is, walking through a crowd of people and following in tow behind it, you see how it makes us all react.”

He emphasized that sporting the armor was a unique experience. He added,

“It’s a real joy to work across from it, because there’s also this constant element of mystery with the suit, staring at the face of it, until you’re given some kind of voice from it. You have no idea what the person inside is thinking or what’s going on with them. It’s a constant negotiation as to how to read a sign off of it.”

He also revealed how the armor was the heaviest thing one can imagine. He said,

“At first it feels really fun, but it is extremely taxing through a long ****** day… It’s a really fun struggle. It’s not your typical day at work.”

Meanwhile, Purnell also said she is “really excited” for viewers to see how the characters of Lucy and Maximus influence each other, as well as how they are in turn influenced by The Ghoul, played by Walton Goggins, especially in the second half of the show.
