If you’re unfamiliar with Starship Troopers universe, Johnny Rico is a name that’s integral to it. He is the protagonist of the original Starship Troopers film and is quite a legend in the sci-fi genre. Casper Van Dien brought him to life in the original movie, and since then, Rico’s journey from a young soldier to a seasoned veteran has been a delight to witness.

In Starship Troopers: Extermination, players get the chance to ****** alongside Johnny Rico. He’s not the fresh-faced soldier we first met, but an older and wiser leader. You can consider him as the face of the game, but after the recent success of the game, Offshore isn’t afraid to explore other legends of the Starship Troopers universe.

, Starship Troopers: Extermination‘s lead Peter Maurice, along with Casper Van Dien, lead game Designer Chaz Barker, and head of marketing Gareth Woods, opened up about the development process behind the game. While talking about the game’s design choices, Woods stated that Offshore has even more stories to reveal in the universe.

We have multiple stories to tell in the universe. This one’s centered around Casper’s character, but other stories are happening on other planets that we obviously want to investigate through future chapters.

Although Woods didn’t reveal which particular characters Offshore has in mind to explore, there are a lot of candidates in the Starship Troopers universe. We have many notable characters, such as Lieutenant Jean Raszack, Rico’s teacher, and Dissy Flores, a fellow Mobile infantry trooper. Carl Jenkins is another crucial character who is a psychic military intelligence officer.

It’s going to be interesting to see how Offshore introduces such iconic names with future updates for Starship Troopers: Extermination. Considering the phenomenal job the studio has done with Casper Van Dien’s Johnny Rico, it’s clear that Offshore is committed to this project and its future.

by Offshore, Maurice reveals that performance enhancements and bug fixes are two primary things that will be addressed throughout the rest of this year, and developers will continue bringing performance and quality-of-life updates next year.

Players can even expect to see more content drops as 2025 marches on. Additions for the first year will include a horde of new abilities and perks, as well as five more levels in the title’s class progression system.

Although Starship Troopers: Extermination won’t bring any new enemies or weapons in the initial updates, gamers will be able to find bug holes and modify their weapons.

Details for the second quarter of 2025 for Starship Troopers: Extermination are a bit sparse, but they’ll bring the most worthwhile features. These will include a new map as well as an arachnid ****** to face off against. We can also expect to see a detailed tutorial in the second chapter of the title.
