A Floreat couple have gone on trial accused of neglecting their 17-year-old daughter who had the weight of a nine-year-old and behaved like a young child when authorities intervened.

The District Court of WA was told on Monday that when the girl was admitted to Perth Children’s Hospital in April 2021, she had the height of an average 11-year-old and an “exceptionally low” body mass index of 13.1.
