Craig O’Donoghue: Dump derby medal countbacks and give Luke Jackson and Bella Lewis the awards they deserve

The countback rules for western derby medals need to be scrapped, and retrospective awards should be handed to Fremantle’s Luke Jackson and West Coast’s Bella Lewis as an acknowledgement of their big game performances.

It has been two seasons since the rules were changed to prevent a tie from occurring for derby medals. As luck would have it, there have been two ties since. If that’s not a sign that the world is conspiring against the change, then I don’t know what is.
