Silent Hill 2 remake players pointed out an interesting visual homage with some of the mannequins that appear in the game, with some claiming that they were modeled after the protagonist's wife, Mary. Considering the fact that Silent Hill 2 is full of unique metaphors, references, and visual cues that almost always have deeper meaning, the theory might have some merit.
