Squadron 42 has received a 2026 release date at this year’s Citizencon and has been confirmed to have 30-40 hours of gameplay.

The announcement came following a demo of Squadron 42 at Citizencon, which showcased the game’s first chapter in spectacular fashion, featuring a prologue of a space battle that introduces players to the universe.

The demo wasn’t without its hiccups, though. Two game crashes occurred throughout the presentation, played live on stage. The second ****** was comically blamed on the computer rather than the game’s unstable nature.

After the demo presentation, Chris Roberts went on stage to reiterate that the game has approximately 30-40 hours of gameplay and that the team is “confident” in its 2026 release window.
