Mazda hasn’t confirmed local launch timing but again, if the D-Max is a guide, we may expect to see the BT-50 in *********** showrooms around six months after its reveal.

The updated D-Max was revealed in Thailand in October 2023, and went on ***** in Australia in May 2024.

In addition to exterior tweaks, the updated D-Max received an available 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster screen.

Its 8.0-inch and 9.0-inch infotainment touchscreens gained wireless Android Auto (in addition to the existing wireless Apple CarPlay), with new volume and tuning dials underneath.

Other changes included a new Rough Terrain Mode – an electronic off-road traction control aid – as well as a new-generation stereo camera for the driver assist systems and active rear cross-traffic assist.

Isuzu builds both its D-Max and the Mazda BT-50 in Thailand.

To the end of September, Isuzu has sold around twice as many D-Max utes as Mazda has BT-50s.

Mazda has sold 2384 BT-50 4x2s and 9230 BT-50 4x4s, while Isuzu has sold 5000 D-Max 4x2s and 18,349 D-Max 4x4s.
