Employees at the Medley Animal Shelter say that their kennels have almost all been cleared out after sending out a **** ahead of Hurricane Milton. The shelter had over 100 animals who needed temporary lodging. And miraculously their entire community stepped up. Ahead of the oncoming storms Medley had a huge problem. Many of their animals were being kept in outdoor kennels. So potential flooding from the hurricane posed a serious threat. Over the weekend there were over 160 dogs who needed emergency housing. By midweek nearly all have found a place to stay. It’s incredible, considering that without the help of kind people like these the Medley dogs would be in serious trouble. “This weather is supposed to bring flooding. We know we’re going to get high winds and just the sounds of a storm — it’s so stressful for a dog,” one employee told the news outlet. She added that for any of these dogs to feel “safe and secure” during this stressful time was such a blessing.
