Nintendo’s New Alarmo Clock Already Has A Day-One Update

data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///ywAAAAAAQABAAACAUwAOw==

Nintendo’s new Alarmo alarm clock was just unveiled this week, and although users won’t get their hands on the device until 2025, Nintendo has announced that its newest piece of hardware already has a day-one update for users to download as soon as they get their hands on the device.

As one might imagine, Alarmo is a Nintendo-themed alarm clock that uses sounds from popular Nintendo titles to help users wake up on the right side of the bed each morning. (The “right” side presumably being whichever one doesn’t have a green shell lurking nearby for users to slip on.) Alarmo also features motion-sensing technology that allows users to silence its sounds with a single handwave.

    • You can set this to On or Off in the “Records” menu on the device.
  • “Distance from bed” can now be set to 20in/50cm max for Queen and King size beds.
  • When “Check Sensor Zone” is run, an estimated “position of movement” will now be displayed.
  • General system stability improvements to enhance the user’s experience.

In addition to the inclusion of nostalgic Nintendo sounds and a motion-sensor, Alarmo also features scenes from various Nintendo Switch titles that can be used as a background in place of the standard clock face. The following games are included in Alarmo’s collection of backgrounds:

Users who connect Alarmo to their Nintendo Online account will gain access to two more unique clock face background scenes: one from Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and one from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. But despite so many Switch games being featured in the clock’s design,
