Red ***** Redemption PC Fixes 14-Year-Old Graphic Flaw That Held Back Rockstar’s Timeless Masterpiece

Even if you never got the chance to play the first Red ***** Redemption, you’ll probably know exactly why it’s hailed as a timeless classic. After all, its gripping story, rich characters, and the vast open world have captured the hearts of many for over a decade now.

Now, with the PC port finally around the corner, all the Master Race fans can leave behind those pesky emulators to experience the game’s magic. Not only that, but this version fixes one of the game’s most notorious issues and enhances the Western in a way that feels long overdue.

The PC Port of Red ***** Redemption Will Finally Fix the Game’s Terrible Draw Distances

Suppose you remember riding across the wild plains of Red ***** Redemption. In that case, you’ll recall how objects, characters, and even landscapes would often suddenly pop and keep rendering in the foreground, usually breaking the immersive quality of the game.

Considering how much the game relies on immersing you in John Marston’s journey and adventure across South America and Mexico, the issue has only become more glaringly bad over time.

Of course, it doesn’t help that these rendering issues have always been present in this title, plaguing the original release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and then improving only slightly on the Nintendo Switch and PS4 versions.

But finally, all that’s about to change with the upcoming PC release on October 29th, with adjustable draw distances promising to, once and for all, eliminate the long-standing flaw.

Thanks to this addition, you’ll now be able to ride through the rugged terrain of New Austin with zero visual disruptions.

Credit where credit’s due, it’s nice how Rockstar has ensured that PC gamers will experience Red ***** Redemption as it was meant to be—seamless and immersive, free from the technical limitations of older consoles.

The company’s focus on PC-specific settings like these, especially after the mind-boggling GTA Trilogy Remaster, deserves high praise. It gives the game a chance to truly shine on modern hardware.

Outside of Draw Distances, What Else Can We Expect From the Red ***** Redemption PC Port?

Of course, it’s not just the improved draw distances that have players excited. Thankfully, the Undead Nightmare expansion will be included with the PC version, letting you ***** into its beloved zombie-horror alternate universe.

While the multiplayer component will continue to remain absent, similar to the Switch and PS4 versions, at the very least, there’s nothing to stop people from experiencing the duology’s story in full detail.

But let’s not forget about the other technical advancements. You’ll be able to enjoy the game in native 4K at 144Hz on compatible monitors, with NVIDIA DLSS 3.7 and AMD FSR 3.0’s inclusion offering top-tier performance boosts.

These features, combined with the adjustable draw distances, mean that this port will deliver a much richer experience than any console version before it.

However, Rockstar will need to focus heavily on optimization. While the new settings promise a smoother experience, performance hiccups could really undermine all the enhancements.

Plus, for PC players, this port has to be the definitive way to experience this game, so hopefully, the company will manage to deliver on that base.

But with all that said, what are your thoughts on the announcement? Have you relied on emulators to play Red ***** Redemption before? Let us know in the comments below!
