Rio Tinto sews up acquisition of Arcadium Lithium quickly with $9.9 billion buyout agreed

Rio Tinto says it has reached a deal to buy Arcadium Lithium for about $US6.7 billion ($9.9 billion).

The deal has been approved by the board of both companies and values Arcadium at a 90 premium to its closing price on October 4 — the last day it traded before Rio’s takeover interest was leaked.
