The fast-food restaurant’s menu included fried fish, shrimp, breaded catfish and fish sandwiches. There is no indication on the old building if a new restaurant will take over the location. According to Captain D’s spokeswoman Tracy Paul, the last day the restaurant was operational was Aug. 23, 2024. Paul declined further comment on the closing, and said she did not know why the location was shuttered. Horry County land records show that the building is owned by Academy Investors under the care of KE Andrews with the owner’s address listed in Rockwall, Texas. KE Andrews did not immediately provide comment when contacted on Monday. According to Captain D’s story on its website, the company opened its first location in Donelson, Tennessee, in 1969. Within four years, they had expanded to 15 different locations, the site said. Captain D’s moved its headquarters to Nashville, where it oversees 535 locations in 31 states, its website said.
