A Perth Mint employee’s long-running gold replacement scam was only uncovered when she was caught stealing tea towels and a fridge magnet from the Mint’s souvenir shop.

When confronted about the trifling $48 theft, mother-of-two Valerie Harriduth confessed to a series of other ******* based on substituting gold jewellery for her own cheaper bling.
