Cleveland Dodd inquest: Coroner dismisses application by top Corrections official to remove him due to ‘bias’

The coroner in Cleveland Dodd’s inquest has dismissed a bid to have him disqualified from the proceedings – and listed reasons why the prisons official who brought it faced intense questioning.

Grant Donaldson, the barrister for Corrective Services deputy commissioner for women Christine Ginbey, lodged the shock application last week to have coroner Phil Urquhart recuse himself on the basis of “apprehended bias”.
