How to Defeat Margit the Fell Omen

Elden Ring provides players with a vast open world where exploration will depend on their will. Therefore, the next ****** will be completely based on the way you have selected to progress. Well, some world bosses are almost unskippable, and that’s why you’re here trying to figure out how to defeat Margit the Fell Omen.

The Lands Between has numerous bosses to take down. Margit the Fell Omen is going to be the first major boss you will face in the game.

Generally, initial bosses are still easy to handle, but Elden Ring omitted this concept. Margit the Fell Omen is enough to end your journey before it properly starts. 

Margit the Fell Omen Location in Elden Ring

Margit the Fell Omen’s first appearance in Elden Ring after reaching the Stormveil Castle.

Now that you are on your way to explore the open world and roaming around the first region of the game, Limgrave, you will eventually come across the Stormveil Castle. The first Limgrave boss will be found guarding this castle.

Without defeating him, there’s no way you can enter the location. Stormveil Castle is mandatory to explore if you want to progress through the main story. So, this ****** is an unavoidable one. 

If you haven’t yet located the castle, open the map, and you will find the castle at the top northwest side of West Limgrave. However, the path is full of regular enemies and mini-bosses. So, progress carefully. 

Before starting the ******, it will be better if you rest at the nearest Site of Grace, which will be inside the hallway at the entrance. We recommend resting there and saving the game, so if you ****, you don’t have to continue the journey from the previous save point. 

How to Prepare for the Margit the Fell Omen ******

Elden Ring players need to be prepared before jumping into this battle or their end is near.

Nothing is easy in this game. This ****** won’t be any different. It is better if you don’t take this ****** up before reaching at least level 23. He may be your first roadblock in accessing the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC.

Though initially it seems that Margit the Fell Omen is strong against almost everything, he still has weaknesses. He is weak against poison and bleed damage. Therefore, these two must be your primary *******.

For the bleed damage, you can bring any ******* based on your level or what you have in your inventory at the moment. It can be anything that makes the boss bleed. Though melee weapons work better in these cases, if you are looking for long-range attacks, use bows and arrows. 

Tip

No matter what ******* you select for this battle, we suggest you go with level 3 or 4 weapons for this ******, as the basic ones won’t deal damage to this boss.

This boss ****** allows you to summon Spirit Ashes, and we would recommend choosing Spirit Jellyfish. This Spirit Ash will be unlocked by interacting with the NPC in the Stormhill Shack. This will inflict poison damage on the boss. 

The next option that you can consider for this ****** is the Lone Wolf Spirit Ash. Here, the summons will bring three spirit wolves that not only deal damage to the boss but also distract him to allow players time to launch some attacks. This is more convenient because all three wolves have separate health bars, and until the boss finishes all three bars, the Spirit Ash will work.

How to Defeat Margit the Fell Omen – Phase 1

Margit attacks fast, so players must always keep an eye on his moves to avoid the attacks.

The design of each boss ****** in Elden Ring clearly states how thoughtfully they are made. The Margit battle is divided into two phases.

Of course, the first phase will be comparatively easy, but that’s also challenging enough. The toughest part of this boss ****** is the agility of the boss and the constant attacks he launches.

The boss will use a lot of sword attacks, even combos in quick succession. Don’t let these attacks hit you, or else you will lose a chunk of your health. Sometimes, he even throws the daggers at players. 

Aside from the dagger attacks, Margit has a large sword with highly damaging attacks, so, as soon as you see him raising it, start making distance. 

Tip

If possible, bring Margit’s Shackle. This item will help you stagger the boss during the first phase.

The best option is to keep a safe distance from the ******, though that won’t ensure your safety as the boss has ranged attacks. So, keep rolling and running throughout the arena, and whenever you get a chance, get close to Margit the Fell Omen to deal critical damage to the boss. 

How to Defeat Margit the Fell Omen – Phase 2

Be careful of the hammer attacks, as these attacks drain a chunk of health in a single *****.

The second phase of the ****** will be much tougher. The boss will become a lot more aggressive, and his arsenal will have a new ******* and movesets. This time, he will have a hammer. During this phase, the hammer will be the primary ******* that the boss will use to deal damage.

While all the attacks from the previous phase will be intact, two new moves will be added to the list: Hammer Swing and Jumping Hammer Strike. Be very careful, as both will be equally deadly.

The boss will swing his hammer horizontally to deal damage in the Hammer Swing *******. Therefore, as soon as you see him initiating this *******, dodge it. Keeping some distance from the boss will help you avoid this *******.

The next one is the jumping *******, where the boss jumps higher in the air and slams the ground with his hammer. He will perform it specifically when you are away from him. Dodge the shockwaves the slam generates to avoid deadly damage. 

After each *******, the boss will take a few seconds to recover, and that’s your chance to land some critical hits on him. Run toward Margit, stab him a few times, and again make distance. This ****** will take time. Don’t lose patience and stick to your strategy.
