“I’m leading the ****** to cut your taxes. They want higher taxes. I’m leading the ****** to defend jobs and Texas oil and gas and energy. They want to ******** jobs in Texas, oil and gas and energy. I’m leading the ****** to support the men and women of law enforcement, they want to defund law enforcement,” said Cruz at the event on Saturday.

Back in August, both Cruz and his Democratic opponent Rep. Collin Allred, visited East Texas to make their case to voters about why they want to win this heated race.

“I want to have conversations with Texans about where I think we can go together. I think we’ve had 12 years of incredibly divisive and actually not very productive, in terms of getting things done,” Allred said during his visit back in August.
