JOPLIN, Mo. — A Joplin woman will spend time behind bars for her involvement in a *******.

Carla Jo Ward, 50, is sentenced to 10 years in federal prison without parole.

She’ll also serve eight years of supervised release.

This sentence stems from her involvement in the July 2020 kidnapping and ******* of 41-year-old Michael Hall.

Hall’s body was found at a property in rural Newton County.

Four other individuals involved in the ******* have already received their prison sentences.
