Not only do you need to defeat several bosses that were previously optional, but there’s also a recommended level to face everything this content will bring. Players Who Haven’t Completed Elden Ring Will Need to Do Certain Things to Access the DLC

How to Start Shadow of the Erdtree

Mohg, Lord of Blood is other optional boss that has to be defeated to enter the Land of Shadow.

First, players will need to defeat the optional boss, Starscourge Radahn. This will be the first step to accessing the DLC. You can find Starscourge Radahn in the Caelid area, accessible through the portal in Redmane Castle.

He is one of the toughest bosses in the base Elden Ring game. After defeating this formidable final boss, players must proceed to the next objective, which is to enter the Land of Shadow in the Shadow of the Erdtree downloadable content.

To enter the new area and access the DLC, you must defeat Mohg, Lord of Blood. This boss is also optional in the base game, but the studio decided to make him a mandatory requirement for the new content.

To access this new area, you must approach the egg-shaped cacoon with a hand hanging from it. Once you’ve defeated the aforementioned bosses, you’ll see a new character standing next to this spot. This character will be critical to the DLC.

Needle Knight Leday identifies herself as a devoted disciple of Miquella. Talking to this character will teach you how to use the shell arm.

After interacting with the arm hanging from the shell, you will immediately find yourself in the Land of Shadow, ready to explore all the new Elden Ring DLC has to offer.

FromSoftware has truly created a new challenge in every sense when it comes to the enemies in this new content.
