The awards season is here, and it has brought with it a wave of exciting news. There has been a lot of excitement revolving around the expansion category. Starfield: Shattered Space has been snubbed at the 42nd Annual Golden Joystick Awards for one DLC that still stands strong as the undisputed king of them all.

There is no doubt that this DLC won’t be winning this year in the expansion category due to the impact it has had on the world of gaming this year. Even the highly anticipated expansion for Starfield does not come anywhere near this widely celebrated game.

Shadow of the Erdtree stands strong for an unopposed win this year. Elden Ring’s award-winning spree does not seem to be ending. The game has been bagging awards left, right, and center ever since its initial release in 2022. Elden Ring was awarded Game of the Year in 2022, and it still seems to be going strong with its recent DLC expansion this year.

Shadow of the Erdtree is the only expansion that the game is ever going to get, and the same was confirmed by FromSoftware. The recent DLC includes many exciting things for the game, including a huge area to explore with many interesting boss fights and weapons to acquire along the way.

There is no doubt that it will be winning the award for best expansion this year, not just in the Golden Joystick Awards but in many other award shows to come later this year and at the start of next year. No other expansion comes even close to giving Shadow of the Erdtree competition, and for all the good reasons.

Starfield’s latest DLC expansion, Shattered Space, fails to get nominated for the best game expansion category this year. The recent DLC was a gift to the game on its first anniversary, which offered a huge map extension and many other exciting elements.

However, since the DLC was released just a few days ago, it ******* to generate enough hype to get noticed by the award show. The nominations for the best game expansion are as follows:

• Destiny 2: The Final Shape
• Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred
• Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree
• **** of War Ragnarök: Valhalla
• World of Warcraft: The War Within

There is no doubt about the winner of this category. The competition does look tight, but we all know in our hearts that the undisputed champion amongst the 6 is Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree since it is the only expansion that contributed to the soul of the game.
