Race Round to be boosted by $1 million slot race from 2025

The State Government has recognised nearly 130 years of Goldfields thoroughbred racing and the annual Race Round by adding a $1 million sprint in conjunction with the Kalgoorlie Cup from next year.

A new Golden Saddle “slot” race announced by the State Government will be run over 1100m on the same day as the $150,000 Kalgoorlie Cup as part of a $1.5 million commitment to establish a significant new sporting drawcard as part of the Race Round at Kalgoorlie Racecourse.
