Park founder Saengduean Chailert, said the elephant that trailed behind the others is ****** which is why it moved slowly. The sanctuary was impacted by flash flooding on 3 October, after heavy downpours in upstream areas caused the Mae Taeng River to rapidly rise. Staff told the BBC on Friday the sanctuary has 126 elephants, nine are stuck on the far side of the park, but all are safe.
