We all need to be extremely wary about allowing any clubs to campaign for major changes to the father-son rule simply because the luck of the draw hasn’t fallen their way.

There is little in the game that is more romantic than the father-son rule. Attempts to drag it down are based on short-term jealousy instead of the big picture. Emotion is an absolute key to what makes footy great. Watching a son of a former player succeed evokes that passion.
