In the episode, The Stranger meets up with Tom Bombadil in his hut, where Bombadil says to him: “A wizard does not find his staff, it finds him, like his name.” The Stranger says in reply, “Gandalf, that’s what they’re going to call me, isn’t it?”

And that’s that. After years of fan theories and speculation that pointed to The Stranger being Gandalf, it’s finally confirmed, and it’ll be interesting to see where the show goes from here.
