Cancelled Halo Battle Royale Details Surface Online, Video Claims

In a video dubbed an exclusive report, one creator and reporter has broken down a series of claimed details about Project Tatanka – later known as Project Ekhert – the famed and ******* Halo battle royale title. It was claimed that Tatanka (or Ekhert) was cancelled in 2023 because of a ******* to focus on the next main Halo game and because the battle royale genre was wavering.

Read on to check out the full array of claims about the cancelled Halo battle royale project.

What Might Have Been

Many fans were excited about the prospect of a Halo battle royale title, including some prolific streamers with a penchant for first-person shooters. Unfortunately, all signs point to 343 Industries having cancelled the project, capping it to work on ******* and better things for the series.

In January, it was claimed that 343 Industries was heading in an entirely different way for the next Halo title, ‘starting from scratch’ and utilising a new engine. Shortly after, Project Tatanka (Project Ekhert) was shut down, as the claim goes.

In a post on social media that accompanied an ‘exclusive’

report, creator ‘Rebs Gaming’, who has spotted key Halo-related details in the past, listed a bunch of details tied to the cancelled Halo battle royale game.

He stressed it was being playtested ‘weekly’ by 343 Industries, which is where many of these details came from. Players would drop into a map on the Zeta Halo ring made up of multiple fragments, and they’d get there through an ODST-style drop-pod system. As players explored the map, they’d pick up power items, equipment, and shields, all while completing ‘mini objectives’.

As the game unravelled, Pelicans would fly over and drop off vehicles — Warthogs, Mongooses, Falcons, and the like.

These details are yet to be corroborated, but whether they’re accurate or not, the fact ******** — there is no Halo battle royale game on the horizon and it was once heavily rumoured that one would materialise. In the absence of such a game, some savvy creators have started piecing together their own Halo battle royale mode, which shows how there’s an appetite for the game.
