which is arriving from December this year.

Despite adopting familiar design elements from current Skoda models, the Elroq is the Czech brand’s first vehicle to incorporate the latest iteration of its ‘Modern Solid’ design language.

This is most noticeable at the front, where the Elroq has been fitted with Skoda’s new ‘Tech-Deck’ face – not to be confused with the finger-sized skateboard kids toys – which features a much thinner grille with S-K-O-D-A lettering.

LED lights with ‘four-eyes’ graphics are standard, though matrix LEDs are optional in certain markets. The *********** are connected by a full-width ‘Light Band’ which stretches across the grille, though this is also only available as an option.

It’s a more familiar look at the rear, with its tail lights largely unchanged in design from the Karoq, though being an EV there are no exhaust outlets.

Inside, Skoda will offer four interior themes overseas: Studio, Loft, Lodge, and Sportline.

Studio interiors are the most basic with ****** fabric upholstery, Loft interiors feature leatherette anthracite grey upholstery accented with Moss Green stitching and dark blue recycled fabric, and the Lodge theme includes grey TechnoFil material with orange contrast elements.

The Sportline interior theme is available as part of a package of the same name which drops the exterior ride height and includes sportier exterior design cues.

Inside Elroqs with the Sportline option, there’s carbon-look interior detailing and suede sports seats with integrated headrests.

A 13-inch infotainment touchscreen is standard across the range, incorporating Skoda’s Laura voice assistant and ChatGPT, as is a 5.0-inch digital instrument cluster and head-up display.

Standard safety features include nine airbags, adaptive cruise control, lane assist, emergency assist and side assist, as well as *********-mandated Intelligent Speed Assist, which works in tandem with its traffic sign recognition system.

Though Skoda is yet to detail the Elroq’s exterior dimensions, its boot capacity is smaller than that of the Karoq.

It’s capable of holding 470L with the rear seats up (down 51L) and 1580L with the second row folded (down 230L).

Based on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB EV platform – which underpins the Enyaq, Volkswagen ID.4/ID.5 and Cupra Born, among others – the Skoda Elroq will be available with four drivetrain combinations, though the flagship is yet to be detailed.

The rear-wheel drive Elroqs will launch overseas first, before the flagship all-wheel drive joins the lineup next year.

Skoda Australia is yet to detail which variants will come to local showrooms, with pricing and specifications due to be announced closer to its July 2025 launch.
