Operation FAFO (fool around and find out) lasted two days and was led by the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office. Drones and other high-tech equipment were used to ensure the apprehension of the alleged traffickers. Video footage also shows investigators hiding out in hotel rooms, arranging meetups with alleged predators, and ambushing unsuspecting ‘buyers.’ Other agencies involved in the operation included the California Highway Patrol, Rancho Cordova Police Department, the California Department of Justice Human Trafficking Team, Drive for Impact, the Sacramento Family Justice Center, and other victim advocate groups. In total, 122 individuals were arrested on charges related to prostitution, solicitation, and trafficking.
