Former Victoria Police chief commissioner Simon Overland has been accused of “****** and reckless” failures to protect barrister turned informant Nicola Gobbo on the second day of her civil trial.

Ms Gobbo, 51, is suing the State of Victoria for damages relating to her outing as Lawyer X or informant 3838 who passed information to police during a ******* underworld war in the 2000s.
