Some players often use graphics and visuals as a metric to determine if a game is worthy of being called a next-gen title. Fortunately, Hideo Kojima is arguably one of the best game directors working today and is an expert in storytelling and great visuals. There is no telling how far the sequel will push the limits of the PlayStation 5, especially amidst the release of the Pro model.

In 2019, Kojima Productions proudly unveiled the inaugural ****** Stranding for the PlayStation 4. Despite encountering a turbulent launch and initial fan dissatisfaction with the gameplay, a significant shift in public opinion. Subsequently, the gaming community gained a profound understanding of director Hideo Kojima’s profound message for the world conveyed through his innovative contributions to the video game format. ****** Stranding 2: On the Beach is now on the horizon and early previews suggest this game will be superior in terms of visuals and graphics than most modern triple-A games.

CD Projekt Red received a ****** reception after launching Cyberpunk in the state it was in, and the modding community decided to take matters into their own hands and improve the visual fidelity on PC. The gaming community was promised a realistic world with real-time AI schedules and physics but it was all a pipedream. Kojima Productions doesn’t do things half-baked and the developers will do whatever it takes to achieve what was envisioned.

The gaming community wanted to see how far the game developers would push the hardware and Decima engine and the results were promising. There is no telling how better the final product will look once everything is polished and settled to the most minute detail. Hideo Kojima struck gold with the first game and some players were doubting that everything happening in-game was running on the engine and gained the respect of the gaming community for this impressive feat.

The original game looked stellar on previous-generation hardware and ran smoothly on PC and the PlayStation 5. Some fans expect to see Kojima Productions and Sony Interactive Entertainment potentially collaborate for a new limited-edition PlayStation 5 Pro before the official release date. The original game received the same treatment for the PlayStation 4 Pro and it would be a missed opportunity not to do it again. The franchise is growing and it would make sense for Kojima to produce more merchandise alongside new content.

The lines between video games and realism are starting to blur even further thanks to the unwavering efforts of game developers like Hideo Kojima. There is no telling what the future of video games will look like, especially with hardworking creatives at the helm and the fast-paced evolution of technology. Innovation doesn’t stop, and neither must creativity which is a potent mix for a successful project.

Modern video games like Far Cry 6 and Cyberpunk 2077 were renowned for their graphics and visuals; however, these titles could not hold the candle to what director Hideo Kojima showed during the Tokyo Game Show presentation. Only a handful of game developers who aim to deliver great visuals in a modern video game and Kojima Productions could set the standard for the coming years.

Kojima Productions is fortunate to receive the Decima engine from Guerrilla Games, and Sony Interactive Entertainment offered it to the director without hesitation, which speaks volumes to Hideo Kojima’s reputation and credibility as a game director. Kojima earned the respect of his colleagues and fellow developers within the gaming industry, and they are now paying it forward by helping him pursue his dream project in earnest.
