Screen Queen: Get ready to fall in love with new Indian/*********** drama Four Years Later, coming to SBS

Four Years LaterWednesday, 9.20pm, SBS

Long-distance relationships are hard. I say this from experience, having suffered through a particularly torturous one many moons ago.

The physical distance was by no means the trickiest bit — it was all the little in-between moments not shared that got us in the end.

All the in-jokes missed; family get-togethers not spent side-by-side; movies unshared; sunsets seen from different hemispheres — all life’s little intimacies experienced from different ends of the earth.

In the end, they all added up and the chasm got *******. We broke up.

Heartbreaking, really.

All the sadness came rushing back when I watched the first two episodes of this fabulous new SBS drama, starring award-winning actress Shahana Goswami and Akshay Ajit Singh as married couple Sridevi and Yash, who reunite in Australia after four years apart.

Yash has moved here to take up a medical traineeship, and it’s only after several years that his partner is able to travel from India to join him. Needless to say, when they eventually do reunite, a lot has changed.

Can the couple find a way back to one another?

It’s a good question.

This series, from the producers of Colin From Accounts and The Twelve, is just beautiful. Sydney, Mumbai and Jaipur shimmer and shine on screen, as do the performances of the central cast, which also includes Kate Box, Roy Joseph, Taj Aldeeb and Luke Arnold.

I fell hard for the first two episodes, but I worry there may be heartbreak ahead for me. Here’s hoping Yash and Sridevi make it work, for my sake. I simply can’t take any more heartbreak.

I’m so excited for you all to see this.

“Sixteen is when nothing makes sense anymore,” says one of the characters in a trailer for the third season of Heartstopper, and honestly, truer words have never been spoken.

Just when I thought my heart couldn’t take anymore (***** you, Four Years Later!), along comes this, promising to go deep into what’s next for our fave teen lovers Charlie and Nick, who — let’s be real here — must be protected at ALL costs.

This season, things won’t be easy for them — or any of their buddies — as they navigate next-steps in their adolescent lives, staring down uncertain futures, school changes, friendship struggles and mental health challenges.

Be still, my beating heart.

This little wanderlusting TV reviewer loves any excuse to armchair travel. So of COURSE I’ll be checking out this rebooted travel series, which returns to Seven after a 12-year hiatus.

Yep, it’s ANOTHER Walking ***** — I’ve lost count of the many thousands of spinoffs. This one picks up where season one left off, and sees Dazzler (Norman Reedus) and Carol (Mellissa McBride) still journeying towards home.

Zan Rowe is fast becoming my new fave interviewer — the stories she coaxes from her guests are unrivalled. Ep one, featuring Dannii Minogue, is truly revalatory, and makes for emotional viewing. Adore this series.
