In Starfield, addiction is a gameplay mechanic that reflects the consequences of using certain substances, primarily stimulants and drugs. Although the meds can provide many benefits, overconsuming them will quickly make you addicted to the substance.

Once addicted, you can’t just quit the substance and expect to be free of withdrawals. You will see your oxygen recovery rate reduced and even your carry capacity lowered. Hence, it’s vital to cure addiction in the game.

The most straightforward way of treating an addiction is by consuming Addichrone. It is a medicine that can be bought for 380 credits and is the cheapest way to treat an addiction. Unfortunately, the effects of medicine only last 10 minutes, so it is basically a quick fix. You can buy the consumables from many vendors and doctors.

Junk Flush is another medicine that can purge you of any addiction. It does cost 665 credits but is guaranteed to cure all your addictions in one swoop. Lastly, you can visit a doctor for 450 credits and get your addiction cured. Although you can usually go to a doctor for the fix if you are deep in your travels and far away from a medical facility, Junk Flush and Addichrone will be your savior.

How to Get Stimulants in Starfield?

While addiction can be a hassle to deal with, there is no denying that stimulants grant various kinds of boosts that can come in handy in dire situations. As soon as your journey begins in the game, always look for stimulants to carry.

You need to get Performance Enhancement 1 at a Research Laboratory before you can start crafting your own stimulants. As you progress in the game and continue upgrading your Research Laboratory, you’ll be able to craft more potent stimulants. Research various topics, and you’ll be able to generate stimulants at the Pharmaceutical Lab.

Besides crafting your own, you can pick stimulants from ***** bodies, or you can pickpocket them from NPCs. There are also stimulants available at various vendors, so look for them. However, use them only when necessary, as you can get addicted to them.
