Harrods boss apologises after Al Fayed ****** claims

The managing director of Harrods has said the company “******* our colleagues and for that we are deeply sorry” following allegations of ******* ****** against former owner Mohamed Al Fayed.

Michael Ward said in a statement that he wanted to convey his “personal horror at the revelations that have emerged over the past week” and make clear that he “was not aware of [Al Fayed’s] criminality and ******”.

He went on to say that Al Fayed, who ***** in 2023, “presided over a toxic culture of secrecy, intimidation, ***** of repercussion and ******* misconduct”.

Mr Ward worked for Al Fayed from 2006 to 2010, when the luxury department store was sold.

“We have all seen the survivors bravely speak about the terrible ****** they suffered at the hands of Harrods former owner Mohamed Fayed,” he said.

“As we have already stated, we ******* our colleagues and for that we are deeply sorry.

“While it is true that rumours of his behaviour circulated in the public domain, no charges or allegations were ever put to me by the Police, the CPS, internal channels or others. Had they been, I would of course have acted immediately.”
