Measuring 5180mm (electric) to 5195mm (plug-in hybrid) long, 1990mm wide and 1480mm tall, it’s larger across every dimension than the aforementioned Porsche, though it differs from its ******* rival by being available with more than just pure battery power.

The Denza Z9 GT EV (electric vehicle) is powered by three motors, developing 710kW to push the ********* brake from 0-100km/h in a claimed 3.4 seconds.

These motors are fed by a 100.1kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery pack, good for a claimed 630km of driving range on the lenient CLTC cycle.

However, those who are after fuel flexibility can also choose a plug-in hybrid (PHEV), which mates three less powerful electric motors to a 152kW turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol engine for 640kW total, resulting in a 3.6-second 0-100km/h time.

While it has a shorter electric-only driving range of about 200km thanks to its 38.5kWh battery, combined the system can go for up to 1100km without needing a recharge or refill.

These powertrains are available across two shared grades – Pro and Max – with the PHEV getting an exclusive Ultra flagship.

Equipment available across the range includes 21-inch wheels, rear-axle steering, a large infotainment touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster and passenger screen, wireless charging pads and a head-up display.

Flagship versions get air suspension, Nappa leather and a 26-speaker sound system, among other features.

There’s even a pair of onboard fridges, with one in the front and two at the back.

BYD hasn’t yet confirmed if it’ll bring Denza to Australia, but ******** pricing of the Z9 GT shows encouraging signs if it does come here.

The Z9 GT PHEV ranges from 334,800 to 414,800 yuan (equivalent to $69,270 to $85,825 in *********** currency) while the two EVs are priced from 354,800 yuan ($73,410) and 384,800 yuan ($79,620) respectively.
