2025 Mercedes-Benz GLA: Brand’s cheapest SUV gets a price cut

Mercedes-Benz Australia is looking to boost sales of its already-popular GLA SUV, cutting the price of its entry-level variant by $7000 – but buyers will have to make some sacrifices.

is down $7000 on its most recent $69,900 before on-roads price tag, and its $6000 less expensive than when the updated model launched last year.

This price adjustment aligns it with the A 200 hatch, which was previously the most affordable Mercedes-Benz badged vehicle on ***** in Australia. The GLA 200 also now undercuts cheapest Vito van and the

There is a catch to the GLA 200’s new price though, with a handful of previously standard features becoming cost options.

This includes its panoramic sunroof (now commanding an extra $1800) and all but two paint finishes.

Mercedes-Benz previously offered Polar White, Cosmos ******, Mountain Grey, High-Tech Silver and Spectral Blue as no-cost options, however all finishes bar the former pair are now $700.

The GLA 200’s Manufaktur Patagonia Red paint was $692 but is now $1392, a $700 increase.

As such, ordering a GLA 200 with a panoramic sunroof in Mountain Grey, High-Tech Silver and Spectral Blue will now set you back $65,400 before on-road costs – still a $4500 saving on its previous price.

, Mercedes-Benz had previously said the GLA 200 would feature a turbocharged 1.3-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with 48V mild-hybrid assistance, however the fuel-saving technology never made it to local shores.

This was put down to a communication error. The non-mild-hybrid engine consumes more fuel than Mercedes-Benz’s original claim (7.4L/100km rather than 6.5L/100km), though its 120kW and 270Nm outputs are unchanged.

Despite this, the GLA SUV ******** Mercedes-Benz’s second-most popular passenger vehicle in Australia, behind the
