Austal lands another submarine gig with US Navy worth $223m

Austal will take on more work at its US shipyards after winning a US$150 million ($223m) contract to build out the infrastructure needed for new nuclear-powered submarines.

At the weekend the US Department of Defense said the contract had been awarded to Austal to bolster the capacity and capability of its Submarine Industrial Base in Mobile Alabama, and that the work would be completed by September 2026.
