Children more likely to end up in court than diverted

Young offenders in NSW are more likely to end up in court than on a diversion program, with trends showing police are taking a more punitive approach to dealing with children.

New research from the NSW Bureau of ****** Statistics and Research shows a decline in the proportion of young offenders formally diverted from the court system through a police-issued warning, caution or youth justice conference.
