The latest title in the popular franchise, Space Marine 2, has been out for quite some time now and fans have loved the game and everything it has in store in them. With over 30 years of history, players may see much about the wider Warhammer 40k universe in the latest title. The game brings a lot of the franchise’s original elements and below are the seven Space Marine 2 Easter eggs and references that fans must look for. 7. Greenskin Orks Greenskins, which are also known as Orks, are the main enemies of the Imperium. In the early stages of the Campaign in Space Marine 2, the Ultramarines are joking around with one saying that they have had “more civilized conversations with Orks.” Although the Greenskins are not in Space Marine 2, this is a reference to the Orks. The Greenskins are an important part of the Warhammer 40k lore and were the main enemies in Space Marine 2 until Chaos showed up. Many long-time fans will easily spot this Easter egg. 6. The Horus Heresy data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///ywAAAAAAQABAAACAUwAOw==This is a major event in the Warhammer 40k universe. Image via Saber Interactive The Horus Heresy has been referenced in Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2 multiple times. This event is one of the most important in the Warhammer 40k universe that saw nearly half of the Space Marine legions side with the Chaos and go against the Emperor of Mankind. The Space Marine legion lost the war and fled to the Eye of *******. The other traitor legions such as the Thousand Sons still plot the downfall of the Imperium. Many Space Marines still ***** that something similar might happen in the future again. 5. The Primarchs data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///ywAAAAAAQABAAACAUwAOw==The game remembers one of the twenty Primarchs. Image via Saber Interactive The Emperor had created 20 genetically engineered sons called the Primarchs to help him conquer and rule the galaxy. One of those 20 sons, Roboute Guilliman is the first loyalist Primarch to return after 10 thousand years in the stasis. Guilliman began to fix the Imperium as soon as he returned. He launched the Indomitus Crusade to ****** Chaos and Tyranids. Roboute Guilliman is not in Space Marine 2 but the game remembers him a lot of times for his work. For those out of the loop, Titus watched over Primarch Roboute Guilliman. 4. Leandros data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///ywAAAAAAQABAAACAUwAOw==Leandros got Titus sent to Deathwatch. Image via Saber Interactive At the end of Space Marine 2, Titus proves himself to be a hero, defeating the Chaos and slowing down the Tyranids. This is when it was revealed that the Chaplain who has been giving Titus a hard time was Leandros. Leandros is Titus’ nemesis from the first game. Leandros is also the same guy who told the Inquisition about him being corrupted by the Chaos which led to him serving for Deathwatch before he was brought back by Marneus Calgar to the Ultramarines. Leandros still believes that Titus is wrong but fans believe otherwise. 3. The Tzangoors data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///ywAAAAAAQABAAACAUwAOw==Tzangoors usually ****** with melee weapons. Image via Saber Interactive Tzangoors in Warhammer 40k are birdlike animals that ****** with the Thousand Sons Marines. These act as the lowest level in the Thousand Sons army. They have aggressive melee and ranged *******, however, are not Daemonic in nature as many believe. What people do not know is that they are a race of humans that have mutated and when they started worshipping the Chaos **** Tzeench, only then they developed their daemonic qualities. These are born by spawn from Tzeentch as they are created from those who are touched by the warp. 2. The Machine **** data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///ywAAAAAAQABAAACAUwAOw==The Cult Mechanicum people pray to the Machine ****. Image via Saber Interactive The Machine ****, also called the Omnissiah, is the entity that the members of the Cult Mechanicum pray to. Many also think that the Machine **** and the Emperor are the same but some see the emperor to be “a pretender.” The Machine **** is real but it is possible that it’s a C’tan running from the Necrons that were defeated by the Emperor. This Machine **** seems to have influenced the Martians’ culture. 1. Crossed the Rubicon data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///ywAAAAAAQABAAACAUwAOw==Captain Titus is a Primaris Space Marine in Space Marine 2. Image via Saber Interactive After spending his time with Deathwatch, Titus wakes up with the Ultramarines and is greeted with being told that he has “Crossed the Rubicon.” This is hinting towards his surgery to become the Primaris Marine. The Primaris Marine is a new breed of stronger and faster Astartes and could potentially replace the original ‘First Born’ marines. While many ‘First Born’ marines are still there, more are going through the surgery or crossing the Rubicon to become the Primaris Marine. Did you find any other Space Marine 2 Easter eggs?
