GoFundMe started for funerals for victims of fatal Collier I-75 ******: What to know

A GoFundMe has been started for the family of the five victims involved in the fatal car ****** on Sept. 14 on Interstate 75 in Collier County.

Four of the five people in the car *****. One ******** in the hospital with serious injuries.

How did the ****** happen?

According to the FHP report, the sedan was traveling south on I-75 in the center lane. The driver changed lanes and lost control of the vehicle, causing it to travel off of the roadway and into the grass.

The vehicle collided with a tree and broke into two separate parts.

The driver and two passengers were pronounced ***** at the scene. One other passenger ***** later at the hospital and another passenger, 16-year-old Jefry Garcia was left in critical condition at the time.

The ****** is still under investigation.

Who was in the car?

The driver, 18-year-old Edwin Jenri Garcia Ramos, and two 19-year-old men, Luis Garcia and Yony Garcia, were pronounced ***** at the scene by rescue officials.

Karla Tol Martin, a 21-year-old passenger, was the passenger transported to a local hospital who later *****.

She says the victims were on their way to work before the ******.

“These four individuals who are named below were very hard working and dedicated individuals who did not deserve this,” Macedo wrote on the GoFundMe page. GoFundMe is a crowdfunding platform.

The money raised through GoFundMe will go toward ******** costs. So far, the fundraiser has collected more than $3,580. There were 44 donations as of Tuesday (Sept. 17).
