She worked in Seattle for a decade, most recently as Channel 13-FOX Good Morning Seattle’s morning news anchor.

El Paso Times reached out to Dueweke for comment on her leaving the station and where she could be heading, but did not hear back.

Many viewers wished Dueweke luck and said they would miss her on the social media post.

“Sorry to see her go. We thoroughly enjoyed her presence on the news. Wherever she goes she will succeed,” one comment said.

Changes at CBS4, KFOX14

Dueweke’s departure comes as several other newscasters have left Channel 14-KFOX’s sister station, Channel 4-CBS, including morning anchor Fidel Moreno-Meza and veteran newscaster John Purvis.

The company owning the two stations, Sinclair Broadcast Group, had said it would change its news production.

In an email to the El Paso Times, representatives for Sinclair responded, “we will be making changes to the way we produce news in El Paso and refocusing our resources across our two stations in the market, CBS4 and KFOX14.”

“In the short-term, CBS4 will continue to air its 10 p.m. newscast, adding a simulcast of KFOX14’s newscasts in other dayparts. A reconceptualized newscast will debut on CBS4 later this year,” the email stated.

The El Paso Times asked if the station changes would result in layoffs. The company declined to answer the question.
