Fresno County areas to permanetly close for high-speed rail project

) – Some areas of Fresno County are set to close as part of the California High-Speed Project in October, the California High-Speed Rail Authority said on Friday.

Officials with the California High-Speed Rail Project say there will be permanent road closures along Clarkson Avenue, at the BNSF railroad tracks between Clovis and Peach avenues, as well as at Minnewawa Avenue at the BNSF railroad tracks between Clarkson and Elkhorn avenues in Fresno County.

According to officials, the closures will go into effect beginning Oct. 9. Construction of ****-de-sacs and a temporary roadway will follow.

Officials say drivers traveling eastbound along Clarkson Avenue will be detoured north on Peach Avenue, east on Conejo Avenue, south of Clovis Avenue, and then east on Clarkson Avenue. Drivers traveling westbound on Clarkson Avenue will be detoured north on Clovis Avenue, west on Conjeo Avenue, south on Peach Avenue, and then west on Clarkson Avenue.

Signage will be in place to direct traffic and officials say access will be maintained for all property and business owners.
